Technical Information on the Accessibility of the Service

The University of Turku strives to ensure the accessibility of its websites in accordance with the European Parliament and Council Accessibility Directive. In Finland, the directive is implemented through the Act on the Provision of Digital Services.

Status of Service Accessibility

This website has been implemented using WordPress and Gravity Forms 2.5, which comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. The website generally meets accessibility requirements. Any non-compliance is noted below.

The PDF report generated from the skills assessment has been structured with accessibility in mind. The PDF does not include official tagging (Tagged PDF), but its content is structured clearly and works compatibly with common screen readers.

The following content is not fully accessible for the reasons listed below:

Non-Compliance with Accessibility Requirements
  • The Skills Assessment Tool does not provide a mechanism to skip repeated content blocks that appear on multiple pages. Therefore, WCAG 2.1 criterion 2.4.1 is not fully met.
  • Some images do not include alternative text. These images are decorative and do not provide additional information.
  • Due to the system used, the PDF cannot be generated as a tagged PDF.
