Purpose of Processing
The skills assessment tool is designed for students and graduates to help recognize their own skills. The service is provided on a separate website and its use is voluntary. The service collects information from the user via a form and generates an automatic PDF report with feedback. Most of the collected information is numerical or classified data. Users can also provide descriptive information about their skills.
Legal Basis for Processing
Legitimate interest based on the client relationship, to ensure service quality and to develop the service (EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 Art. 6f).

Categories of Personal Data
The service does not require authentication or login. It collects information about the user’s faculty and stage of studies (bachelor’s, master’s, or graduate). Providing this information is voluntary. The user’s IP address is also used to verify that the person downloading the report is the same who completed the form.
The service stores the form responses, which may be used for research and reporting. Data may also be used to develop the tool. Data cannot be linked to an individual unless the user voluntarily provides personal information on the form. Any personal data provided is not used and will be deleted during processing.
Cookies
Cookies are stored on the visitor’s device to collect anonymous information about the visitor, their device, and their use of our website. Read more about cookies.
Retention Period
The PDF report generated for the user is automatically deleted from the server 20 minutes after creation. Collected IP addresses are permanently deleted every 30 days. Other information entered into the service is not deleted.
Possible Recipients
Data is processed internally at the University of Turku. Only designated university staff have access to the system. Summaries, reports, and research based on the collected data may be shared publicly. In these reports, users of the service are not identifiable.
Transfers to Third Countries
Data collected by the skills assessment service is stored on the University of Turku servers and is not transferred to third countries.
Automated Decision-Making
The service does not make automated decisions. Data related to the use of the service is not used for decision-making or profiling.
Public Access or Confidentiality
Access to all data collected by the service is limited to those who need it to perform their work, for example, to create reports from the service. Reports in which respondents cannot be identified are public.
Rights of Access, Rectification, Deletion, Restriction, and Objection
Registered users have the right to access their personal data and to request correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or to object to processing, provided that the individual can be reliably identified from the stored data. Users also have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority.
